On Saturday, February 6, 2016, eighteen of our students in the 7th and 8th grade participated in the 82nd Annual Region 7 Meeting of the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS).
Fourteen out of the eighteen students who competed received 1st Place Awards (including a Perfect Score by Rachel Najdzinski) and will move on to the state competition to be held at Penn State University from May 15-17, 2016. Additionally, Peter Kutschke, Sydney Kwolek, Mallory Locke, Sophia Messina, and Rachel Najkzinski received the Duquesne University Award for Excellence in Science. Sophia Messina also received the American Chemical Society Award for Excellence in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Congratulations to the students and their teacher, Mrs. Nancy Laird, on a job well done!
