My name is Mina
Pasquale.
I presently teach Spanish
for grades 4-8 and Art for grades 6-8.
I began working at
St. Anne’s in 1989 as one of the fourth grade teachers.
My second and third year I
moved into sixth grade.
My daughter was born the
following school year, at which time I decided to take a year off.
I have been working
part-time ever since.
I
received a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish and Italian Language and
Literature, with a minor in Latin American Studies from the
University of Pittsburgh.
I really intended to be an
interpreter or do business/literature translations until one of my
Italian professors asked me to consider being a teaching assistant and
enrolling in the Italian Masters Program.
So, I did.
That is where I began to
love teaching, and so it is because of this wonderful professor that I
chose to continue on this path.
Upon completion of the
masters program, I returned to Pitt and got an Elementary Education
Certification.
In
today’s world foreign language learning is becoming increasingly
important.
I am very fortunate to have
the opportunity to share my love of language and art with the students.
