Mrs. Stewart thought she was being called to the school gymnasium by her staff to assist with the upcoming talent show. Instead, the Saint Anne School students, faculty, and staff were on hand to see Ms. Kathleen Carnicella, Director of the Non-Public Schools Program for the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU), present her with the 2018-2019 Very Important Principal Award.
Representatives from the AIU and Fr. Mike were also on hand for the celebration.
Mrs. Trish Trappen and Mrs. Amy Renegar, the AIU representatives assigned to Saint Anne School, nominated Mrs. Stewart for the award. The nomination was based on Mrs. Stewart’s professionalism, dedication, leadership with her staff, students, and parents, and her cooperation with and support of the AIU staff. Ms. Carnicella also noted that, “Mrs. Stewart goes above and beyond that which is required of a principal.”
In addition to the award certificate, Mrs. Stewart received flowers, balloons, chocolate covered strawberries, and a “Congratulations” banner signed by all the children of the school.
“I am honored to be nominated and selected for the Allegheny County Intermediate Unit Non-Public Principal Award this year,” said Mrs. Stewart. “I appreciate the relationship that we have in order to best serve our school children. We are blessed to have a team of educators in our building who are as dedicated to our students as the Saint Anne School faculty and staff are. I appreciate the opportunity to work with the AIU and I am excited to be selected for this VIP award. There are many talented private school administrators, which makes this award even more prestigious to me.”
Congratulations, Mrs. Stewart! This award is so well deserved. We are so proud of you!
