Dear Parents,

Happy New Year!  First, thank you for the many gifts, cards, and well wishes I received for the holidays.  I had been trying to keep up with thank you notes, but between some travel and then a little illness, I have really been unsuccessful.  Please know that I am very grateful.

JANUARY CALENDAR:  There is an early dismissal on Friday, January 17, and school will be closed on Monday, January 20, in observance of the Martin Luther King holiday.

REPORT CARDS:  Grades for the first semester will close on January 16 and report cards will be distributed on Tuesday, January 21.  Conferences will be on a split day schedule during Catholic Schools Week – grades 4-8 conferences on Thursday, January 30, with no school for those grades ONLY on that date.  Grade K-3 conferences will be Friday, January 31, and K-3 only will not have classes that day.  Conference request papers will be included with report cards.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK:  Please plan to attend the Opening Mass at noon on Sunday, January 26.  This Mass will also mark the opening of our 120th anniversary year.  You will receive more detailed information about CSW events in next week’s envelope.

A NICE SURPRISE:  Mr. More, father of Dante and Gianna, spent part of his Christmas holiday painting one of the stairwells.  And, although Mr. More is in the “painting business”, this great job was a gift to us all.  Many thanks!

Also, just before Christmas, we received very generous donations from the estate of Mary Fahey and from Don and Jill Hillebrand.  Both of these donations are specifically designated to scholarships, determined by guidelines established in agreement with the families.  We continue to be blessed by so many of our “former” families.

Have a great month – and pray for good weather!

 God bless,

 Mrs. J
