Dear Parents,

Wow! This is the last monthly newsletter – and I am not sure where the year went! I just know we have a very busy month ahead.

CALENDAR: There is an 11:30 dismissal on May 18 and no school on Memorial Day, May 28.

FIRST COMMUNION: Our second graders will receive their First Communion on three Sundays during the 12 noon Mass. The traditional group celebration is Sunday, April 29. The family celebrations of the sacrament are on May 6 and May 13. Please pray for our children as they celebrate this very important day.

MAY CROWNING: We will honor Mary on Wednesday, May 2, following the chapel Mass. Our celebration will be in the gym, beginning around 9:50. You are most welcome to join us for this beautiful celebration of Our Lady. As always, we ask that the school children bring flowers to decorate the altar.

ASCENSION THURSDAY: Mass for the holy day will be celebrated in the gym at 9:00 a.m., May 17.

WRITING ASSESSMENTS: All students, grades K through 8, will take the diocesan writing assessments during the first week of May.

BAND: Our band students are combining with the students from Saint Sylvester and BRC and this combined band will present a concert for our students on Wednesday, May 16, in the gym at 1:45 p.m. This combined band will do an evening performance at Saint Sylvester on May 17.

SOUTH PARK: Our annual school day picnic is on Friday, May 25. You will receive special information and permission forms in early May.

CLOSINGS: PS-4 will have a closing program on May 30. The kindergarten closing is the next day, May 31. Our 8th graders will graduate in the church immediately following the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday, June 2.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL: Because of the unused snow days, school will close for the year on Friday, June 1. Students will attend Mass in the morning and dismissal will be from the school at 11:30. Report cards will be mailed the following week.

REMINDER: Tuition for the current year should be paid in full by May 10. Report cards will not be mailed until this obligation is met.

I hope to see you at the Night at the Races this Saturday – it’s a great fundraiser for the school and a fun evening for everyone. Happy Mothers Day to all our school moms – you make our school a special place. And, of course, I will see you at the Fair – June 11-16. Have a happy and safe summer.

God bless,

Mrs. J
