The Middle States Accreditation Team has recommended REACCREDITATION for Saint Anne Catholic School!

Thank you to our dedicated staff, especially Mrs. Erica Faber and Mrs. Nancy Belsterling, our two Internal Coordinators for their hard work and commitment to this process. Thank you to Father Mike Caridi for his continued support and our school office staff and PTG Board Members who worked hard to prepare for and accommodate the visiting team.

Thank you to our parents and students who took the time to complete the Middle States Survey at the beginning of the year and spent time with the Middle States Team this week. Everyone had an important role in this process and we are so grateful and blessed to have this opportunity.

We will receive our formal Reaccreditation from Middle States Association after their biannual meeting in the spring.

CONGRATULATIONS,
FOURTH GRADER ALLISON VO!

Congratulations to Saint Anne School fourth grader, Allison Vo, for having a winning poster for the National Adoption Month Poster Contest, sponsored by the Allegheny County Children’s Court. On Thursday, November 17, she and her family were invited to a special awards ceremony at the Family Courthouse. Allison came in third place for the fourth grade division. Way to go Allison!

CONGRATULATIONS,
MRS. FABER!

Saint Anne School teacher Mrs. Erica Faber has been chosen as a 2016 recipient of the prestigious Golden Apple Award from the Pittsburgh Catholic Diocese.

Mrs. Faber is the 4th grade homeroom teacher at Saint Anne School.  She also teaches 7th and 8th grade Language Arts, 4th grade English, and Music to students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
She will be among several to be
recognized by Bishop David Zubik
at a ceremony on May 24th.

Principals, parents, teachers and/or pastors submit nominees for the Golden Apple Award.  A selection committee consisting of members of the diocesan Schools Office, the Education Department from
Duquesne University and the Donahue Family Foundation (which funds
the program) chooses the recipients.

The winners are selected on a number
of criteria, including their teaching abilities and effectiveness, their impact on students, their involvement in parish
and community outreach, and their commitment to the Catholic faith.

The Saint Anne School Coat of Arms contains
symbols that can be found within our church
and pertain to our Patroness, Saint Anne,
and her daughter, the Blessed Virgin Mary.

At the base of the Coat of Arms we see symbols resembling a nest from which emerges a young bird, surrounded by two winged creatures.
The nest represents Saint Anne, the young bird represents Mary her daughter, and the
winged creatures represent angels.

Above those symbols we find a victorious cross
emerging from a crown.  The crown represents
the Blessed Virgin and the cross, of course,
represents Jesus who was borne of the Virgin's
womb and rose victorious from the dead.

The background color of the shield is blue, the color traditionally associated with royalty and with
Mary who is the Queen of both Heaven and Earth.
