CONGRATULATIONS, MRS. FABER!

Saint Anne School teacher Mrs. Erica Faber has been chosen as a 2016 recipient of the prestigious Golden Apple Award from the Pittsburgh Catholic Diocese.

Mrs. Faber is the 4th grade homeroom teacher at Saint Anne School.  She also teaches 7th and 8th grade Language Arts, 4th grade English, and Music to students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
She will be among several to be

the program) chooses the recipients.

The winners are selected on a number
of criteria, including their teaching abilities and effectiveness, their impact on students, their involvement in parish

The Saint Anne School Coat of Arms contains symbols that can be found within our church and pertain to our Patroness, Saint Anne,
and her daughter, the Blessed Virgin Mary.

At the base of the Coat of Arms we see symbols resembling a nest from which emerges a young bird, surrounded by two winged creatures.
The nest represents Saint Anne, the young bird represents Mary her daughter, and the winged creatures represent angels.

Above those symbols we find a victorious cross emerging from a crown. The crown represents the Blessed Virgin and the cross, of course, represents Jesus who was borne of the Virgin’s womb
and rose victorious from the dead.

The background color of the shield is blue, the color traditionally associated with royalty and with Mary
who is the Queen of both Heaven and Earth.
